On the 24th of June 1870, Carlo Gastini and some past pupils of Don Bosco from Valdocco went to visit Don Bosco to congratulate and thank him on the occasion of his feast name. As a gift, they gave him a set of coffee cups (tazzine) and the silver heart as a sign of gratitude for all that he had done for them. This day marks the birth of our association as Past Pupils and Friends of Don Bosco. On this special day, Don Bosco said to Carlo Gastini and his friends to remain close to him as a part of the Salesian Family. He told them how much he loved them more than ever before and encouraged them to unite and to help and support each other.
In this year 2020, we are celebrating the 150th anniversary from our foundation when Don Bosco himself invited us to form an organisation so that we can be active members of the Salesian Family.
