The Il-Luċi project is an ongoing heritage restoration initiative taking place in Għargħur, focused on conserving and revitalising a former British searchlight battery that had fallen into disuse over the years.
The project aims to restore this historic site and transform it into a space dedicated to education, community activities and cultural engagement, while respecting its historical and architectural significance.
A key part of this initiative is the production of an educational video, developed with the support of APS Bank, which documents the history of the site and its role within Malta’s military and social heritage. The video also includes a detailed 3D model, enabling viewers to clearly visualise how Il-Luċi is planned to look once fully restored. This visual tool strengthens public understanding of the restoration process and the long-term vision for the site.
The video will be used as an educational resource for schools, young people, visitors and the wider community, supporting learning, heritage awareness and community engagement.
The production and dissemination of this video was made possible thanks to the support of APS Bank, whose contribution has played an important role in allowing this project to reach a wider audience. Their commitment to cultural heritage, education and community development has helped ensure that Il-Luċi continues to be preserved and shared for future generations.
