Dingli, Malta – 1 February 2026 – The Salesian spirit came alive at Savio College as more than 400 members of the Salesian Family gathered to celebrate the Feast of Saint John Bosco.

The celebrations began with a solemn Mass presided over by Fr. Eric Cachia, the Salesian Provincial. In his homily, Fr. Cachia reflected on the enduring legacy of Don Bosco and the gift of the Salesian charism, urging all attendees to continue fostering communities that serve as “homes that welcome.”

Following the Mass, Savio College became a lively hub of activity. The Salesian Brigade ensured that food preparations ran smoothly, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone present.

The afternoon offered a range of activities in the true “Salesian style,” including:

  • Sports and Games: Organized outdoor sports and indoor activities for young people and adults alike.
  • Tombola: A fun-filled session in the main hall that brought together participants of all ages.
  • Community Building: Opportunities for past pupils, Cooperators, and friends of Don Bosco to reconnect and strengthen their bonds.

The event highlighted the Salesians’ enduring presence in Malta, particularly in the scenic surroundings of Dingli. It served as a vibrant reminder that the vision of this 19th-century saint continues to inspire and guide communities well into 2026.
