The Maltese National Federation of the Past Pupils and Friends of Don Bosco have been awarded funding by Agenzija Zghazagh through the Assistance for You (A4U) Scheme, within the Parliamentary Secretary for Sports, Recreation and Voluntary Organisations under the Ministry for Inclusion and Social Wellbeing. The funds were used in kitchen renovations which will be used by young people in a new office and working space.

Through this project GEX, the group of young past pupils and friends, gained new skills through nonformal learning. The activities were youth-led under the direction of youth leaders as well as skills persons especially a woodworker, electrician and plumber. The storeroom was dismantled by these young people and was refurbished into a kitchen. With the help of this project GEX gained skills on how to set up a kitchen by being exposed to basic DIY skills in electricity, wall preparation and painting as well as stripping, sanding and painting of doors and apertures. They were also involved in the decisions taken on the procurement of the kitchen cupboards and appliances. These young people participated by learning do-it-yourself skills. For this activity we also involved a group of young people from MCAST who joined us in voluntary work. We would like to thank Agenzija Zghazagh for trusting us with this project and providing the Federation with such funds.
