On Saturday, 18th October, the Erasmus+ project Hands on Development hosted the Malta Dissemination Event at the Storeroom in Ta’ Xbiex. The event brought together youth workers, volunteers, and development practitioners for an engaging afternoon of networking and reflection.

Guests were greeted with drinks and light refreshments during an introductory presentation that outlined the project and its key objectives. Afterwards, they explored a series of interactive stations around the venue, each highlighting a key aspect of the initiative, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), youth engagement, research findings, the project toolkit, and multimedia outputs such as videos and the website.

The informal setup encouraged participants to move freely between stations, fostering dialogue and exchange of ideas. Later, the group gathered for a collective discussion, sharing personal testimonies and insights about volunteering as a tool for development.

The session concluded with a reflection on four important findings from the project’s research, reinforcing the value of active citizenship and collaborative learning in promoting sustainable development across Europe.

About the project

Hands on Development empowers young people and youth organizations to engage in global development. Addressing youth underrepresentation, it promotes civic engagement and SDG awareness through research, training, and practical action.

The initiative brings together five partner organisations from across Europe — Friends of Don Bosco (Malta), Don Bosco Network Centro di Fraternità Exallievi Don Bosco – Alberto Marvelli APS (Italy), Confederación Nacional de Antiguos Alumnos y Antiguas Alumnas de Don Bosco (Spain), Mittetulundusühing Noored Ühiskonna Heaks (Estonia), and Don Bosco Barátai Alapítvány (Hungary). Each organisation hosted its own dissemination event to share the project’s outcomes and inspire greater youth participation in development work within their local communities.
