MentorPower Programme
The National Federation of Past Pupils and Friends of Don Bosco have developed and managed the MentorPower Programme which is a project which offers mentoring services to young persons who are homeless or those lack the support of a family.
The MentorPower Programme is helping vulnerable young persons to discover more about themselves and their environment and to follow a path of higher achievement and stability.
Research shows that mentoring programmes are associated with positive behavioural outcomes and are an effective tool to assist in positive youth development and to encourage social adjustment and improved personal outcomes. Mentors support and guide the homeless young person in managing their future to become self-sufficient and to live independently in the community.
