SYinc Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide care and education to children and young people most in need, rooted in the educational approach of Don Bosco. We are dedicated to creating a nurturing and supportive environment that fosters personal growth, embracing values and integrity. Through the Salesian approach, innovative social and educational programmes, and a strong sense of community, we empower the youth to overcome challenges, realize their potential, and become responsible and upright citizens. Guided by loving-kindness, reason, and faith, we strive to transform lives and build a brighter future for all.

Sync Objectives

The Salesian Youth Inclusion, SYinc project has been in operation for the past four years. It works towards three main objectives; providing accommodation to homeless young people, offers mentoring programmes and contributes to international development.

Accommodation

SYinc currently offers two residences that can accommodate up to 7 individuals, providing;

  • Shelter; all our studio apartments are catered for independent.
  • A care programme; which is carefully set between the resident and support professionals.
  • A mentor that will be matched with each resident to accompany and assist the young person to gain the skills needed to become fully independent.

MentorPower Programme

Mentoring young people with fewer opportunities is a means to foster the inclusion, education and employability of young people especially those not in education, employment or training; young people at risk of marginalisation; and young people with a migrant background, particularly newly arrived immigrants and young refugees.

The MentorPower Programme has two aspects, training and mentoring.

Training Courses:  SYinc offers training courses to local and foreign youth workers working with vulnerable young people. The aim is to take care and support young people as they grow and move on with their lives.

Mentoring Programme: This support is offered by our trained volunteers to each of our residents and any young people who approach us for guidance and help. The Mentoring Programme continues well after the residents leave our accommodation, depending on the young person’s needs.
