Friends of Don Bosco is seeking a motivated and organised full-time Project Coordinator to support the coordination and development of the Check In youth faith tourism project.

Friends of Don Bosco is committed to empowering young people through social care, non-formal education, training, and international initiatives inspired by the Salesian spirit. The Check In project aims to offer meaningful educational, cultural, and faith-based experiences for young people in Malta, Gozo, and abroad.

About the Check In Project

The Check In project supports young people through non-formal education, cultural awareness, and faith tourism. It promotes opportunities for learning, reflection, and personal growth, while encouraging young people to engage with the Salesian spirit in both local and international contexts.

Position Overview

The Check In Project Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, development, and implementation of the Check In project. The role focuses on translating project objectives into practice, coordinating activities and stakeholders, supporting the project’s growth, and ensuring effective delivery in line with the mission and values of Friends of Don Bosco.

The Project Coordinator works closely with the Project Manager, the National Council, staff, volunteers, and partners to ensure the smooth running of project activities.

Key Responsibilities

Project Coordination and Development:

  • Coordinate the planning, development, and delivery of activities related to the Check In project.
  • Support the ongoing development of the project in response to identified needs and opportunities.
  • Ensure activities are delivered effectively, on time, and in line with agreed objectives.

Programme Implementation:

  • Support and coordinate educational, cultural, and faith-based experiences for young people.
  • Coordinate logistical and operational aspects of youth faith tourism activities.
  • Work closely with staff, volunteers, and partners involved in programme delivery.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with partner organisations and stakeholders.
  • Liaise with internal teams, volunteers, and collaborators to ensure coordinated delivery.
  • Represent the project at meetings and activities when required.

Administration and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate project documentation, records, and reports.
  • Contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and reporting on project activities and outcomes.
  • Support funding-related documentation and reporting in collaboration with management.

Safeguarding and Compliance:

  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and organisational policies are followed across all project activities.
  • Contribute to creating safe and inclusive environments for all participants.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience in a coordination or project-based role, preferably within youth, education, social, or tourism-related sectors.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate activities effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Experience working with partners, volunteers, or stakeholders.
  • Ability to contribute to project development and continuous improvement.
  • Commitment to the values and mission of Friends of Don Bosco and the Salesian spirit.
