Arts The Hub is an inclusive arts initiative dedicated to empowering neurodivergent young people through creativity, collaboration, and community. The project provides a welcoming and accessible environment where participants aged 13 to 25 can explore a wide range of art forms, including music, pottery, photography, drama, dance, singing, culinary arts, game art, and comic animation. By offering flexibility and choice, each individual is encouraged to engage in the activities that best reflect their interests, strengths, and sensory preferences. The programme includes a variety of courses and workshops lasting 4 to 9 weeks, allowing participants to learn at their own pace while developing self-expression, confidence, and personal growth. Most of the programmes take place at the Valletta Design Cluster, with some workshops hosted at Friends of Don Bosco’s office in Sliema.

Earlier this month, an Open Day was held where participants attended a series of 20–30-minute introductory sessions across all disciplines. This gave them the opportunity to experience each workshop before selecting their favorite ones. This week, the workshops officially began, marking the start of an exciting creative journey for all involved.

Arts The Hub currently offers nine creative workshops led by a team of experienced educators and professional artists: Photography (Kevin Sciberras), Music Production & DJing (Geordie Attard), Dancing (Sarah Vella), Singing (Rachel Tedesco Triccas), 3D Game Art (Chris Pace), Culinary Art (Keith Casha), Comic Art & Animation (Greta Holland), Ceramics & Pottery (Claudia Chircop), and Drama (Marco Calleja).

Before the launch of the project, all trainers participated in a specialised course on working with neurodivergent young people, delivered by professional team trainer Liepa Jasinskytė. Each workshop is designed to provide a safe and nurturing space where young people can explore their creativity, build skills, and connect with others in a supportive community.
Through this initiative, Arts The Hub aims not only to encourage artistic development but also to strengthen resilience, communication, and life skills that extend beyond the creative space. It is a place where every young person is seen, heard, and inspired to thrive, demonstrating the transformative power of creativity to build confidence, connection, and belonging.
